JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed lower 0.45% at 4584 Thursday (October 22) and trade was very volatile.

Asian stock markets also closed mostly lower Thursday after disappointing U.S. earnings reports dented investor sentiment, AP reported.

Aneka Tambang dropped 8.86%, Adaro Energy lost 2.3%, Bumi Resources shed 5.66%, Charoen Pokphand slashed 5.4%, Gudang Garam fell 3.2%, Indofood declined 2%, Indocement dropped 3.4%, Semen Indonesia lost 4.67%, and Bukit Asam shed 3.1%.

While London Sumatra gained 3%, Astra Agro jumped 5.27%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 1.4%, and Bumi Serpong Damai hiked 2.1%.

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.84% to US$45.58 per barrel while gold inched down 0.01% to US$1,167 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp13,640 against the US dollar.
