JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Coordinating minister for economy, Hatta Rajasa, admits the government had received proposal from PT Freeport Indonesia to build smelter under the public private partnership scheme, Investor Daily reported this morning.

Freeport, the minister said, wants to get incentive but the government must have studied on detail.

Hatta also disclosed that Freeport also intends to divest 20% shares, while the government of Indonesia demands 50% stake sale. Freeport also plans to launch the initial public offering (IPO).

Meanwhile, Bisnis Indonesia reported Bintangdelapan Group and China-based Tsingshan Group are now developing the smelter and integrated industrial estate project in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, with investment cost of US$5 billion.
