JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened down 0.14% at 4,195.10 this morning while regional market were mixed.
Korea’s KOSPI fell 0.27%, and Australia’s All Ordinaries declined 0.17%. While New Zealand’s NZSE 50 gained 0.4%, Japan’s Nikkei increased 0.25% and Singapore’s Straits Times rose 0.21%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and Shanghai only inched up 0.03% and 0.02%, respectively.
In Jakarta bourse, shares of giant coal miner PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) extended its losses after its biggest shareholder, Bumi Plc, said it was investigating potential financial irregularities. It dropped 8.82% to Rp620 per share this morning.
Another underlying asset Berau Coal Energy (BRAU) also lost 4.84%. Bakrie Telecom down 8.11%, Bumi Resource Minerals -3%, Bakrieland -1.92%, Energi Mega Persada-2.38%, Bakrie Sumatera Plantation -0.75% and Visi Media down 7.53%.
Nymex crude oil increased 0.36% to US$92.26 per barrel in Asian trading this morning. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
