JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) gained 0.2% to 4957 this morning opening while Asian shares consolidated near recent highs following a flat finish on Wall Street.

Investors focused buying construction stocks. Adhi Karya gained 1.2%, Waskita Karya rose 3.73%, and Wijaya Karya increased 1.35%. Multipolar also gained 3.2%.

Among blue chips, Adaro Energy rose 1.15%, Alam Sutera increased 0.85%, and Bank Negara Indonesia added 0.9%.

Investors might continue to focus on domestic issues, including tomorrow’s decision from Bank Indonesia on the benchmark BI Rate. Main focus might be polls ahead of July 9 presidential election.

Nymex’s crude oil inched up 0.01% to US$104.36 per barrel in Asian trading and gold increased 0.18% to US$1,262.40 per ounce.
