GILI TRAWANGAN (Indonesia Today) – Since Thursday (Sept 20), 4 tourists destination islands – Lombok and 3 Gili islands – are connected with power through under sea cable with medium voltage capacity of 20KV.

Vickner Sinaga, operating director of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), said along with the launch of power interconnection, the operations of diesel power plants in 3 Gili islands with capacity of 3,000 kW are switched-off.

He said the power interconnection and switch-off of diesel power plant operation will help PLN to save Rp21 billion per year. (ferdi@theindonesiatoday.com)
