JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie, Chairman and presidential hopeful of Golkar Party, has been dragged into limbo by the so-called Teddy Bear video tape scandal leaked to online video sharing website YouTube since Friday last week.
The video tape figured Ical, Aziz Syamsuddin (Golkar lawmaker and Deputy Head of the House Commission III), and two young female celebrities (Marcella Zalianty and Olivia Zalianty) for their vacation in Maldives.
The video also leaks the pictures of Ical with a Teddy Bear and Ical embraced a female celebrity.
In a press briefing on Sunday (March 24), Ical admitted the video is about his vacation in Maldives with that 2 female celebrities.
Ical and his wife, Tatty Bakrie, considered the leak as a part of a black campaign against Ical’s nomination. Tatty also revealed that 2 female celebrities are the friends of her family.
Hanta Yuda, political observer from Pol-Tracking Institute, believed the Ical’s current video tape could affect his electability. While political observer from Paramadina University, Hendri Budi Satrio, said Ical’s electability rating is already very low. He noted the leaked tape would not be such a factor.
Akbar Tandjung, senior politician and Chairman of Golkar’s Advisory Board, confirmed that Golkar will hold a special national leadership meeting (Rapimnassus) just after April’s legislative election.
Golkar executive Yorrys Raweyai earlier told the media that he has suggested his party to evaluate Ical’s nomination. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
