JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Several Non-Government Organizations (NGO’s) have staged a rally on Monday (September 22) in front of the Law & Human Rights Ministry to protesting the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in giving parole, to release graft convicts earlier from prison, Detik.com reported.

ICW Coordinator Emerson Yuntho accused that the president has no commitment in eradicating corruption in the country.

Emerson pointed to 38 graft convicts who have been released on parole during the ten years of SBY’s presidency (2004-2014), including the most recent parole to Siti Hartati Murdaya Poo and Anggodo Widjojo.

As reported earlier, the Law & Human Rights Ministry have released on parole Hartati Murdaya and Anggodo Widjojo earlier from prison. The decision has triggered harsh criticism, including from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
