JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his entourage have arrived in Palembang, South Sumatra, this morning (Oct. 29) in order to inspect the efforts to extinguish forest fires and haze crisis in Sumatra and Kalimantan. The President earlier decided to cut short his US trip and returned home.

President Jokowi is accompanied by the First Lady Iriana, chief of the Presidential Staff Teten Masduki, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law & Security affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

Minister of Education Anies Baswedan, Minister of Health Nila F. Moeloek, and the head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Willem Rampangilei also joined the President’s entourage.

The President and his entourage are scheduled to visit Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) and Kota Kayu Agung, the two regencies in South Sumatra. President will stay for a few days in the OKI regency. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
