JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index ended down 0.18% at 4712 Thursday (July 30), reversed earlier gain as profit taking hit certain stocks. The index reached its peak at 4754 today.

While regional markets closed mixed. Some ended higher after the U.S. Federal Reserve painted a relatively bright picture of the economy, Reuters reported.

Astra Agro dropped 4.95%, Aneka Tambang lost 6.67%, Bank Negara Indonesia shed 3.45%, Semen Indonesia slashed 3.41%, and Unilever Indonesia declined 3.02%.

Adhi Karya dropped 14.61%, Wijaya Karya fell 5.54%, Bumi Resource Minerals lost 10.53%, and Matahari Putra Prima declined 4.3%.

While Astra International gained 2.3%, Bumi Serpong Damai rose 1.17%, Eagle High Plantation increased 1.57%, XL Axiata hiked 2.1%, Indofood lifted 2.16%, Lippo Karawaci gained 2.7%, and Perusahaan Gas Negara rose 2.18%. Waskita Karya also jumped 3.29% and United Tractors hiked 2.95%.

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.25% to US$48.91 per barrel while gold declined 0.71% to US$1,085.50 per ounce. The rupiah weakened to Rp13,468 against the US dollar.
