JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – An executive member of PDI-P expects the party’s chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri and PDI-P as the party will announce the nomination of Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo as president candidate before the April’s election of the legislative members.
PDI-P central executive board member Andreas Hugo Pareira, as quoted by Koran Tempo Monday (March 3), revealed the announcement of Jokowi’s nomination is only about the time.
Andreas said he believed Megawati has decided to nominate Jokowi. The legislative members election is scheduled for April 9, 2014. The the nomination of Jokowi, according to Andreas, would take place by mid of this month or first week of April.
Tempo also reported that its sources closed to PDI-P have confirmed that Megawati has decided to nominate Jokowi as president candidate for July’s presidential race, and some key leaders of PDI-P have been informed.
Megawati and PDI-P have not officially announced the nomination of Jokowi who has so far cemented the perception on him as a demigod presidential candidate.
The astronomical approval rating of Jokowi leads far away from his rivals such as Prabowo Subianto, Aburizal Bakrie, Wiranto, Jusuf Kalla, and his boss Megawati. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
