JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named four suspects, including two lawmakers from PDI-P and Gerindra respectively, in a bribery case related to the discussion of the 2015 revised Musi Banyuasin regencial budget (RAPBD-P 2015).

The two lawmakers named as suspects in the case are Bambang Karyanto of PDI-P and Adam Munandar of Gerindra. Both Bambang and Adam are lawmakers at the Musi Banyuasin Legislative Council (DPRD Muba). PDI-P officially stated that the party has dismissed Bambang.

While two other suspects in the case are Syamsudin Fei (Head of the Musi Banyuasin’s Revenue and Asset Management Agency/DPPKAD) and Faisyar (Head of the Musi Banyuasin Development Planning Board/Bappeda).

The four suspects were earlier caught red-handed by the KPK investigators in a bribery transaction in Musi Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra province. The KPK seized Rp2.56 billion bribe money from the transaction.

The KPK continues investigation into other figures allegedly involved in this bribery case, including Regent of Musi Banyuasin Pahri Azhari. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
