JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Media mogul and the Chairman of Nasdem Party Surya Paloh has once again failed to answer the call from the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) prosecutor team to testify in the trial of his former party official and graft suspect Patrice Rio Capella due to illness.
Paloh was initially scheduled to testify in Rio Capella trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday (Nov. 30). It was a second call from the KPK’s prosecutor team to Paloh after his failure to answer the first call to testify in previous trial on November 23.
According to KPK’s prosecutor Yudi Kristiana, from Paloh’s letter to the KPK, Paloh is under medical treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.
Previously, Paloh has been questioned by KPK as one of witnesses in Rio Capella case. In this case, Rio is alleged of receiving Rp200 million in bribe from the non-active Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho and his wife Evy Susanti for tampering the investigation of the the Attorney General Office (AGO) into the case of the North Sumatra provincial administration’s social assistance funds (Bansos).
