JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis, graft suspect and infamous senior advocate, will face his verdict trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (Dec. 10) related to allegation of bribing judges and registrar at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Medan, North Sumatra.

In previous trial, the prosecutor team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has demanded panel of judges to sentence Kaligis to 10 years in jail.

In addition, KPK’s prosecutor team also demanded panel of judges to order Kaligis, then chief justice of Nasdem Party’s supreme council, to pay Rp500 million in fine or serving additional 4 months imprisonment.

According to the KPK’s prosecutor team, Kaligis has been proven guilty for bribing three judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan in order to tampering the High Prosecutor Office (Kejati) of North Sumatra’s investigation into graft case implicating Gatot.

Said judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan received bribe from Kaligis were Tripeni Irianto Putro (Head of the PTUN Medan), Amir Fauzi (judge at the PTUN Medan), Dermawan Ginting (judge at the PTUN Medan), and Syamsir Yusfan (a registrar at the PTUN Medan). All of them have been also named as suspects in this case alongside Kaligis, his official, and the non-active Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
