JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Immigration office to ban Regent of Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Pahri Azhari from overseas travel related to further investigation into a bribery case of the discussion of the 2015 revised Musi Banyuasin regencial budget (RAPBD-P 2015).

Pahri Azhari serves as Musi Banyuasin Regent for two periods. He lead the regency since 2008. He is also Chairman of PAN for Musi Banyuasin branch.

As reported earlier, the KPK has named four suspects in this case. They are Bambang Karyanto of PDI-P, Adam Munandar of Gerindra, Syamsudin Fei (Head of the Musi Banyuasin’s Revenue and Asset Management Agency/DPPKAD), and Faisyar (Head of the Musi Banyuasin Development Planning Board/Bappeda). Both Bambang and Adam are lawmakers at the Musi Banyuasin Legislative Council (DPRD).

The four suspects were earlier caught red-handed by the KPK investigators in a bribery transaction in Musi Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra province, Saturday (June 20). The KPK seized Rp2.56 billion bribe money from the transaction. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
