JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, Security affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla at Kalla’s office in Medan Merdeka Utara, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (Nov. 24) afternoon.

Kalla, however, after said meeting denied speculation that they talked about Setya Novanto’s case, which now handled by the House of Representatives’ (DPR) ethics council. Kalla told journalists that they only talked on other issues.

As reported earlier, Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said has reported Novanto to the DPR’s ethics council. In his report, Sudirman revealed three meetings between Novanto, businessman M. Reza Chalif, and the CEO of Freeport Indonesia Maroef Sjamsoeddin.

Sudirman also provided transcript and original wiretap of the third meeting dated June 8, 2015 to the DPR’s ethics council. In said transcript leaked to the press, Luhut’s name was also mentioned during the meeting. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
