JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PDI-P party chairwoman and patron leader Megawati Soekarnoputri hinted at early nomination of PDI-P’s presidential candidate, to be announced before April’s legislative election, but still keeps the name of candidate as secret, Kompas reported.
The former fifth President of the Republic said she has a full prerogative right to announce the presidential candidate for July’s presidential election. While the party’s national working meeting had asked Megawati to announce name of candidate after the legislative election.
Megawati was also reluctant to answer the question of media on whether or not she will run as presidential candidate from PDI-P.
Megawati now has a lot of scenarios on who will be finally nominated for July’s presidential race.
PDI-P also has two other strongest and potential presidential candidates; Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini.
This two rising political stars shared similar style of leadership, but some believe Risma is more decisive and knows more details than Jokowi.
Now, the astronomical approval rating of Jokowi leads far away from his rivals such as Prabowo Subianto, Aburizal Bakrie, Wiranto, Jusuf Kalla, and Megawati.
