JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Johan Budi SP stated that the KPK will re-open their investigation into the mega scandal of the Rp6.7 trillion bailout to Bank Century (now Bank Mutiara).
Johan said the KPK is still waiting to a copy of the verdict from the Supreme Court (MA) over Budi Mulya, former Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) and one of two suspects in the case.
As reported earlier, the Supreme Court has dropped heavier jail sentence to Budi Mulya. The Supreme Court sentenced Budi to 15 years in jail, heavier than previous punishment of 12 years imprisonment from the Jakarta High Court.
In the lower court, meanwhile, Budi got 10 years jail term. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
