JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is expected to question the Governor of Jakarta Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama in his capacity as a witness to corruption allegation related to the purchase of a part of land of Sumber Waras Hospital by the city administration.
According to the KPK’s Head of News & Publication Priharsa Nugraha, the KPK only want to ask explanantion from the Governor related to the purchase.
On the other side, Ahok has stated that he will come to the KPK’s office to answer the KPK’s call.
The case was reported to the KPK by a number of lawmakers from the Legisltive Council (DPRD) of Jakarta following the results of audit investigative from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
Ahok is seeking for his second term in the 2017 gubernatorial election. He will enter the race as an independent candidate. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.
