JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed on Monday (August 1) that July 2016 inflation was 0.69%, compared to 0.66% in June 2015.
Of 82 cities, 78 cities recorded inflation, highest occurred in Tanjung Pandan (2.34%) and the lowest occurred in Gorontalo (0.06%). While 4 cities recorded deflation, highest occured in Jayapura (1.1%) and the lowest occured in Maumere (0.05%).
The inflation in July 2016 was contributed by staple food (1.12%), processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.54%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (0.24%), clothing (0.44%), health (0.37%), education, recreation, and sport (0.51%). Transportation, communication, finance services recorded inflation of 1.22%.
Year to date, the inflation was 1.76% while year on year inflation reached 3.49%.
