JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered the postponement over the controversial amendment plan on the Law No. 30/2002 regarding the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) initiated by some factions of political parties at the House of Representatives (DPR).

Minister of Law & Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly confirmed the President’s order on Wednesday (Oct. 14).

This is the second time President Jokowi blocked the amendment plan of the KPK Law. Back in June 2015, the President also ordered Minister Yasonna to not submit the bill on the amendment of the KPK Law to the DPR for discussion.

As reported earlier, the amendment plan on the KPK Law has reemerged after 45 lawmakers from six factions of political parties at the DPR proposed the bill to amend the KPK Law last week. Said 45 lawmakers were came from PDI-P (15), Golkar (9), PKB (2), PPP (5), Nasdem (11), and Hanura (3). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
