BUSAN (Indonesia Today) – Korea-based JFE Steel plans to build downstream steel based-factory in Indonesia which cost Rp3.5 trillion, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.

Husen Maulana, director of Indonesia Promotion Center, said JFE Steel is now proposing to get permit from ??the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) as the ground breaking of the project is scheduled for 2013.

He said JFE will produce galvanized steel which will be used support automotive assembly in Indonesia.

Husen added JFE Steel has acquired 15 hectares land in Bekasi, West Java and targeted commercial operation in 2014. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
