JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Media mogul Surya Paloh, chairman of Nasdem Party, denied speculation connecting him with the bribery cases implicating his party’s former officials, Patrice Rio Capella and Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis, and Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho.

In a press briefing on Thursday (Oct. 15) afternoon at the Nasdem’s headquarters following the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) decision on naming Patrice as new suspect, Paloh firmly stated that he’s not a case broker.

Paloh, moreover, said that he didn’t know anything  about the case dragged down Patrice as suspect.

Patrice, as reported earlier, has been named as new suspect by the KPK in a bribery scandal related to the handling of the social assistance fund case at the High Prosecutor Office (Kejati) of North Sumatra and the Attorney General Office (AGO). The AGO is now led by HM Prasetyo, a politician from Nasdem.

The case dragged down Patrice as suspect, KPK said, is developed from the bribery case implicating famous lawyer Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis and Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho.  Patrice is alleged for receiving gratification. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
