JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened lower 0.27% at 4893 this morning due to profit taking in certain stocks after yesterday’s gains, while regional markets gained.

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.16% to US$49.27 per barrel in Asian trading this morning and gold increased 0.51% to US$1,097.10 per ounce.

Astra International fell 1.8%, Bank Mandiri declined 1.44%, Bumi Resources lost 1.92%, Charoen Pokphand shed 1.08%, and Xl Axiata dropped 2.36%. While Eagle High Plantation gained 2.62%, Adaro Energy rose 1.74%, and Alam Sutera jumped 2.83%.

On Wednesday (July 22), IDX gained 0.75% to close at 4906, helped by late buying. Foreign investors booked net buy of Rp95.8 billion, bringing year to date net buy to Rp4.24 trillion.

Investors mostly bought finance and miscellaneous stocks yesterday, then the sectors gained 1.4% and 1.7% respectively. While agriculture and mining sectors fell 1.17% and 1.98% each.
