JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.93% at 4487 Wednesday (Oct. 7), but trade was volatile. The index moved at range of 4415-4487 during the day trading.

A recovery in oil prices spread to stock markets and emerging market currencies on Wednesday, Reuters reported. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 3.13% and Singapore’s STI rose 2.2%.

Among commodities stocks, Adaro Energy jumped 9.82%, Indo Tambangraya surged 7.6%, Bukit Asam hiked 6.7%, and Timah lifted 7.75%.

Other gainers were Alam Sutera (+9.04%), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (+4.2%), Bank Danamon (+9.64%), XL Axiata (+5.85%), Indocement (+4.86%), Jasa Marga (+9.2%), Jababeka (+15.2%), Semen Indonesia (+6.7%), United Tractors (+5.6%), Global Mediacom (+7.3%), and Japfa Comfeed (+8.9%).

Nymex’s crude oil rose 2.2% to US$49.60 per barrel and gold increased 0.14% to US$1,148 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened further to Rp14,065 against the US dollar.
