JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.75% at 4906 on Wednesday (July 22), thanks to late buying in certain stocks.

Trade was moderate with total value of Rp5 trillion. The bourse resumed trading today after closing since Thursday last week (July 16) for Eid or Lebaran.

While regional markets mostly closed in red after recent gains.

AKR Corporindo gained 3.6%, Astra International rose 1.83%, Bank Mandiri jumped 4%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia increased 2.2%, Gudang Garam surged 4.94%, and Lippo Karawaci hiked 3.88%.

Other gainers were Surya Citra Media (+3.64%), Matahari Department Store (+4.77%), Holcim Indonesia (+5%), and Pakuwon Jati (+6%).

While Adaro Energy dropped 3.36%, Bumi Resources fell 1.89%, Eagle High Plantation lost 2.3%, Vale Indonesia shed 5.74%, and Uited Tractors slashed 4.67%.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 1.4% to US$50.13 per barrel and gold declined 0.8% to US$1,094.70 per ounce. The rupiah weakened further to Rp13,368 against the US dollar.
