JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.09% at 4271 Wednesday (Dec 12) with late buying helping the index to close off its low. Regional markets also closed in red.

Among blue chip stocks, Astra International fell 1.53%, Bumi Resources lost 3.45%, BW Plantation dropped 4.38%, and London Sumatra shed 1.5%. Other losers were Media Nusantara Citra (-4.63%), Visi Media (-3.57%), and Bumi Resources Minerals (-3%).

Among gainers were Alam Sutera (+1.09%), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (+1.38%), Telkom (+3.7%), and Lippo Karawaci (+1.12%).

Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.1% to US$98.52 per barrel while gold declined 0.46% to US$1,255.30 per ounce. Bank Indonesia recorded mid rate of Rupiah at Rp12,005 against the US Dollar.
