JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has decided to submit a draft of revision on the Law 15/2003 regarding the Eradication of Terrorism Acts to the House of Representatives (DPR).
According to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Jokowi’s decision to revise the Law 15/2003 was made after a limited cabinet meeting yesterday (Jan. 21).
Previously, President Jokowi invited several leaders of the State high institutions in a meeting at the State Palace. In said meeting, Jokowi shared his plan to revise the Law 15/2003 following the recent blasts and gunfires around the Sarinah complex in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, last week.
Some earlier suggested President Jokowi to issue a government regulation in lieu of law (Perppu) to replace the Law 15/2003, but the President opted to revise the Law instead. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
