JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – As the economy is slowing down, the government of Indonesia plans to evaluate the construction of power plants with capacity of 35000 megawatts (MW).

In the first half of 2015, the electricity sales only grew by 1.8%, far below the target of 9% growth.

The government targets the realization of the 35000 MW power project by 2019, but the change due to the poor economic development would affect the realization of the project, to finish all construction of power plants after 2019.

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has cut its target of power plant project to 5000 MW from initial 10000 MW.
