JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Ministry of Industry plans to build an organic fertilizer plant in Aceh province in 2016, partnered with fertilizer firm PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM), subsidiary of state fertilizer company PT Pupuk Indonesia.

This plan replaces previous plan to build NPK fertilizer plant with production capacity of 100,000 tons per year with investment cost of Rp30 billion.

Govt opts to change its plan as Pupuk Indonesia has also scheduled to build NPK fertilizer plant with capacity of one million tons per year.

The high gas prices, coupled with the lack supply of gas, prompted the government to change its program for building new fertilizer plant next year.
