JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – As part of fuel conversion to gas, the government will build gas stations. For 2013, the government allocates Rp1.5 trillion for the project.

Evita H. Legowo, Director General for Oil and gas at energy ministry, has yet to mention the number of gas stations to be contructed but said the gas stations will be constructed by using mother-daughter and online systems.

The budget for gas stations project in 2013 is smaller than 2012 budget amounting Rp1.8 trillion. State oil and gas company PT Pertamina is tasked to build 33 gas stations this year, but gradually completed next year.

Rudi Rubiandini, vice minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, earlier said the gas station will be filled by compressed natural gas (CNG).

The supply of gas has currently reached 40 metric million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), sufficient to supply gas to 33 gas stations, consisiting of 5 mother stations, 9 daughter stations and 14 gas stations connected to gas pipe line, including revilatising the existing 6 gas stations and 5 mobile refueling station (MRS).
