JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Commission VI of the Lower House of Representatives (DPR) has rejected the capital injection of Rp280 billion proposed by the government for state sugar producer PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI).

Rini Soemarno, minister for state-owned enterprises (SoEs), proposed again the capital injection for Rajawali, a non cash injection of Rp1.7 trillion, while DPR has rejected when the proposal firstly made in mid January this year.

DPR rejected first proposal as Rajawali does not focus on its core business. DPR also urges the government to revitalize RNI’s sugar mills, both on farm and off farm.
