JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The five leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR) has today (Feb. 22) visited the State Palace Jakarta to discuss the Bill on the Amendment of Law 30/2002 regarding the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

The five DPR leaders have arrived at the State Palace since 12:30 pm of Jakarta time. While the meeting has been started since around1:30 pm.

The Bill on the Amendment of the KPK Law was included in the 2016 National Legislation Priorities (Prolegnas). The bill is the initiave of the DPR.

Seven factions of political parties at the DPR supported the bill, they are, PDI-P, Golkar, PKB, Nasdem, PAN, PPP, and Hanura. While three other factions rejected the bill, they are, Gerindra, Democratic Party, and PKS.

In the meantime, civil society groups and anti-corruption activists have urged President Jokowi to reject the bill. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
