JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Darmin Nasution has been sworn in as new Coordinating Minister for Economy replacing Sofyan Djalil.

Darmin took his oath this afternoon (Aug. 12) in front of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at the State Palace, Jakarta.

Born in Tapanuli, North Sumatra, on Dec. 21, 1948, Darmin served as Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) for the period of 2010-2013.

Darmin also served as Director General of Tax from 2006 to 2009 and Head of the Capital Market Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) for a year (2005-2006). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
