JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Modern retailer Carrefour Indonesia, fully controlled by Chairul Tanjung, plans to open 5-10 new outlets in 2016. Currently it operates 89 outlets, Bisnis.com reported.

Satria Hamid, Corporate Communication General Manager of PT Transmart Carrefour, said Carrefour will also expand its outlets to the regency area, instead of the provinces level.

Satria, also vice chairman of Indonesian Retail Businessmen Association (Aprindo), noted the growing competition in the retail market with the presence of Middle East-based retailer Lulu Hypermarket in Jakarta.
