JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Bank Indonesia’s board of governors decided to keep the benchmark BI rate at 7.5%, for four consecutive months, consistent with the lower inflation early this year.

The rate of lending and deposit facility is also maintained at 7.5% and 5.75% respectively.

“This is an effort to drive inflation to 4.5% plus minus 1% this year,” BI governor Agus Martowardojo told in press brefing Thursday (Feb 13).

Agus explained BI will continue to strengthen the mixed policy of between monetary and macro prudency as well as the coordination with the government in controlling inflation, current account deficit, including the policy to improve the structure of the country’s economy.
