JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Golkar Party of the Bali chairmanship congress (Munas), led by Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie, decided to keep Setya Novanto in a strategic position at the Party’s faction at the House of Representatives (DPR).
During the Thursday’s (Dec. 17) night meeting at the Bakrie Tower, Golkar decided to install Novanto as the head of the Party faction at the DPR, a position previously held by Novanto at the previous DPR. so therefore, Novanto will replace Ade Komaruddin.
Ade Komaruddin, meanwhile, has been promoted to replace Novanto as the next House Speaker.
Novanto, as reported earlier, has stepped down from his position as the House Speaker after proven guilty by the DPR’s ethics council for abusing his power related to the extension of PT Freeport Indonesia’s contract as well as the company’s shares. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.
