WIKA Completes Acquisition Over BBI’s Land and Building

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State construction firm PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) has completed the acquisition over PT Boma Bisma Indra (BBI)’s land and building at value of Rp 86 billion. Budi Saddewa Soediro, CEO of WIKA Realty, said in news release that the acquired assets will be used for property development. He said WIKA Group will build 3 high buildings, 1 building for condominium and hotel and 2 buildings for apartment at the location of the acquired assets in Wonokromo District, City of Surabaya, East-Java Province. This land has an area of 10.825 square meters. For 2015, WIKA allocates capital expenditure (capex) of Rp800 billion, used to fund construction projects in Java and Sumatera islands....

Some Subsidiaries of Pertamina Plan IPO in 2015

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Dwi Soetjipto, CEO of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero), some subsidiaries of Pertamina mull to launch the initial public offering (IPO) in 2015. Dwi said Pertamina’s subsidiaries intended to become listed companies or going public engage on business outside of Pertamina’s core business, such as transportation and shipping sector. Dwi said Pertamina management will discuss with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) about planned IPO of Pertamina’s subsidiaries. Dwi also revealed that Pertamina as parent company will not launch the IPO, as by law Pertamina has obligation to run as energy operator for the country. Pelita Air, airliner, is one of the subsidiaries of Pertamina is considered to be offered to public through IPO. IPO would help boosting the earning performance of company, leading it into more transparent management, and help the company to get a quick investment....

Governor and Regent Asked to Maintain Wealth of Papua Province

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – In a visit to Papua Province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo observed that this province is a very rich region. However, the President warned that rich province would not able to guarantee the welfare of people. He explained that the key of the prosperity of Papua Province depends on the right and proper Public Policy from Heads of Regional Administration. The president mentioned Singapura, South Korea, and Japan as countries that have no natural resources but could be rich as they have good public policies. “I ask the Governors, Regents, and Mayor in Papua to control the wealth and not to sell licenses and permits because our natural resources will run out and people do not get anything” Jokowi said. President Jokowi will end his visit in Papua and scheduled to return to Jakarta today....

Indonesia Transportation Minister to Review Domestic Airlines

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Indonesia will review all domestic airlines after one of Air Asia Jets went missing on Sunday, presumed crashed in the Java Sea. “We will review and round check Air Asia and all of the airlines to make sure the passengers’ safety on the flight,” Indonesian Transportation Minister, Ignasius Jonan told reporters in Authority Office, Soekarno-Hatta Airport. “The review will focus on the air transportation business and business operations,” Jonan said, adding the aviation industry in Indonesia is hoped to improve, especially the safety system in each plane. Silmy Karim, New Boss of Pindad

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises has appointed Silmy Karim as President Director of state-owned land-system and weapons maker PT Pindad (Persero). Silmy replaced Sudirman Said, who was appointed as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources by the President Jokowi. Silmy Karim previously was one of the architects in Defense Industry Policy Committee (KKIP). He has many educational achievements. In the field of defense, Silmy studied at NATO School and George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Germany. Silmy has just launched a new book, titled “Membangun Kemandirian Industri Pertahanan” at the beginning of November, 2014. As a new boss of Pindad, Silmy will complete all of the transformation process of Pindad as a national defense industry. He will focus to support the Government’s program to build the autonomy on the defense industry. Silmy explained that the defense industry could be developed as the backbone of Indonesian Economy. Along with, he also demands supports from strategic partners of Pindad, such as Minister of Defense, Indonesian Army (TNI), Indonesian National Police (POLRI), and others in developing national defense industry....
