Energi Mega Acquires Tonga Block

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), unit of Bakrie Group, acquired 41% participating interest in Tonga block for US$41.7 million. Imam Agustino, ENRG’s president director, said the company obtained more participating interest in Tonga block through acquiring PT Capitalink Investment Tbk (MTFN) and PT Capital Petroline, units of Recapital Group controlled by Rosan P Roeslani, Sandiaga S Uno, and Elvin Ramli. With additional participating interest acquired, now ENRG controls 94.28% of Tonga block, located in North Sumatera with 3.54 million barrel proven oil reserves and 61 million barrel prospective oil resources....

Adaro to Pay Dividend $117.07 Million

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Coal miner PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) plans to pay dividend of US$117.07 million, equivalent Rp1.1 trillion, for 2012 fiscal year. The company booked net profit of US$385.35 million in 2012, dropped 30% from US$550.35 million in 2011. The dividend represents 30.38% of 2012 net profit. The company had paid interim dividend of US$76.77 million in June 2012 and January 2013. The final dividend would be US$40.3 million. Adaro’s coal production and coal sales volume declined by 1% and 4.3% to 47.2 million tons and 48.6 million tons respectively....

Profit Taking Pushes IDX to Below 5,000 Point

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.28% to 4,998.46 on Friday (April 19) as profit taking hit. IDX opened lower but regained in morning trade, then it face a selling pressure during afternoon session. While regional markets closed in green. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and Shanghai gained 2.33% and 2.14% respectively. Astra International fell 0.65%, Adaro Energy lost 1.56%, Bumi Resources down 1.43%, Bank Mandiri declined 1.4%, Modernland (-6.86%), Bumi Serpong shed 1.16%, Perusahaan Gas Negara dropped 1.63%, and Trada Maritim lost 1.43%. Among gainers were Telkom (+1.3%), Lippo Karawaci (+1.5%), Alam Sutera (+1.89%), Kalbe Farma (+3.94%), Jasa Marga (+1.53%), Waskita Karya (+4.23%), and Bank Bukopin (+7.87%). Nmex’s crude oil increased 0.76% to US$88.40 per barrel. The rupiah strengthened to Rp9,709 against the US Dollar....

Bank Jabar Reports 37% Profit Growth in Q1

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten (Bank Jabar) Tbk (BJBR) booked net profit of Rp371.63 billion in first quarter (Q1) of 2013, grew by 37% from Rp270.35 billion in the same period of 2012. Interest income increased 38% to Rp1.15 trillion from previous Rp838 billion. Net interest margin was 8.16%. The bank booked interest income of Rp1.89 trillion. Its assets totaled Rp68.41 trillion, of which credit amounted Rp40.89 trillion. Third party funds reached Rp48.64 trillion. Loan to deposit ratio (LDR) stood at 88.24%....

Timah Eyes Rp1 Trillion Profit

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – State tin producer PT Timah Tbk (TINS) expects its net profit to reach Rp1 trillion this year, jumps 132% from Rp431.6 billion in 2012, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning. Akhmad Rosidi, Timah’s finance director, said the company allocates capital expenditure (capex) of Rp1.4 trillion for this year. He said the company also targets to divest its land assets worth Rp1 trillion this year. While revenue, Akhmad said, is expected to reach Rp8-9 trillion compared to Rp7.82 trillion last year. Timah plans to sell 176 hectares of land in Bekasi and golf court and building in Batam, Riau island. As of December 2012, Timah’s assets reached Rp1.07 trillion while liability amounted Rp233.14 billion....
