Kagum Group to Build 12 Hotels until 2013

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Bandung-based Kagum Karya Husada Hotel Management Group (Kagum Group) plans to build 12 hotels until end 2013, Kontan.co.id reported. It targets to build 10 new hotels this year. The group has just launched the operation of 6th hotel, 4-star hotel, in Bandung named Hotel Gino Feruci which cost Rp52.4 billion. Prabu Energy to Drill Ranau Block in Fourth Quarter

LAMPUNG (Indonesia Today) – Prabu Energy Pty Ltd manages to drill Kayumanis-1 well at Ranau block in the fourth quarter of 2012. Bambang Suprianto, public affair head for ??the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPMigas) at South Sumatera region, said the drilling is needed support from local government so the work will be on schedule. The contract for Ranau block was signed in November 21, 2011 covering 2,200 kilometers square including South Sumatera and Lampung. Didiek Sumasdi, General Manager of Prabu Energy, said his party will accelerate the working program to evaluating the hydrocarbon potential at Ranau block. ???The exploration drilling is accelerated from the 3rd year, based on the commitment, to 1st year,” he said....

Salamander to Drill Four Wells in Kerendan

LONDON (Indonesia Today) – Salamander Energy Plc will drill four development wells at Greater Kerendan Block for the rest of 2012 and expects these wells should provide sufficient gas geed for PLN. The forestry permits for the exploration wells at West Kerendan are expected to be received imminently and drilling is due to commence early in 2013 upon completion of development well drilling. PLN is currently tendering the construction of the Kerendan power plant and it is anticipated PLN will be ready to start receiving gas in the first half of 2014. On other prospects, the South Kecapi well at North Kutei Block is expected to spud by end 2012. Meanwhile, Salamander is working on a plan of development for Tutung Field at Bontang PSC for gas condensate field for submission to Indonesian authorities. Compression facilities at Kambuna Field have been successfully installed earlier this year and will maintain the productive life of the field into 2013....

Pertamina’s Tankers Construction to Complete in December

SURABAYA (Indonesia Today) – PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) said it schedules to complete the construction of 2 oil tankers with capacity of 17.500 dead weight ton (DWT) ordered by PT Pertamina in December 2012, Bisnis.com reported. Muhammad Firmansyah Arifin, PAL’s president director, said the tanker construction costs US$25 million per unit. He said Pertamina orders 2 tankers to PAL, one tanker is scheduled to complete construction in December 2012 and another is targeted to finish construction in March 2013. PAL also has capacity to construct warship, landing craft utility (LCU), and landing craft vehicle personal (LCVP)....

73 Companies Sit Over Vale’s Concession in Sulawesi

JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – About 73 companies have reportedly been granted mineral concessions over the area previously awarded to Vale Indonesia (INCO) in Sulawesi. Most of these concessions were granted in the period of 2010-2012, Kontan business paper reported. Base on ministry of energy and mineral resources decree No. 483/2010, Vale is required to relinquish four blocks namely Maluputu, Torobulu, Lasolo, and Paopao. By law, other companies could get the areas returned to the State, but has to be done through competitive bidding. The problem, most of these areas have been granted to some companies. One company, PT Sultra Sarana Bumi, for example, controls 4,108 hectares of Lasalo block in Konawe Utara regency pursuant to a license issued by acting regent Herry Hermansyah Silondae. Kontan reported that 13 companies are currently sitting over Kolonoda block in Morowali regency, including two companies in production stage. About 34 companies sit over Bahodopi and Sorowako blocks. Bambang Setiawan, former director general for coal and mineral, said mining over Vale’s concession using licenses granted after the deliberation of Mining Law in 2009 is invalid, because it should be done through competitive bidding process.
