JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Infamous lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution has passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday (Sep. 23) morning at the Pondok Indah Hospital in South Jakarta.
Adnan Buyung earlier got medical treatment in said hospital since last week. Back in December 2014, he had been diagnosed for having kidney failure.
Born on July 20, 1934, in Jakarta, Adnan Buyung Nasution is known as a senior advocate and activist. He is a co-founder of the Legal Aid Institution (LBH). And once is listed as lawyer of prominent tycoon Sjamsul Nursalim, the owner of Bank Dagang Nasional Indonesia (BDNI), in the mega scandal of Bank Indonesia’s liquidity assistance (BLBI).
He was also ever listed as member of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s (SBY) Supervisory Council (Watimpres) from 2007 to 2009. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.
