JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – National car sales (wholesales) declined 5% to 86,979 units in November 2015, from 91,327 units in November 2014, due to the economic slowdown.
For January-November 2015 period, national car sales reached 940,000 units. The Association of Indonesia Automotive Industry (Gaikindo) expects national car sales to reach 1 million units this year, compared to 1.21 million units in 2014.
Car sales by Astra group dropped 17% to 473,779 units in January-November 2015 period. Astra holds 50% market share for national car sales.
Astra group sells Daihatsu, Isuzu, UD Trucks, Toyota, and Peugeot. As at November 2015, Toyota sales reached 300,818 units, Daihatsu 185,226 units, Isuzu 17,613 units, UD Trucks 445 units, and Peugeot 36 units.
