JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The prosecutor team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned media mogul Surya Paloh, the Chairman of Nasdem Party, to testify as a witness in another session of the trial of then Nasdem Secretary General Patrice Rio Capella next week.
In addition, according to KPK’s prosecutor Yudi Kristiana, the KPK also summoned three other witnesses to testify next week. They are the brother of the Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho, Clara Widi Wiken, and Ramdan Taufik Sodikin. The trial will be held at the Jakarta Corruption Court on November 23, 2015. It will be the third session of Rio Capella’s trial.
Previously, in the Monday’s (Nov. 16) trial, KPK’s prosecutor team summoned, among others, Gatot’s wife Evy Susanti and Rio’s closest friend Fransisca “Sisca” Insani Rahesti to testify.
Sisca, in her testimony, told the court that Evy has prepared US$20,000 to be delivered to the Attorney General Prasetyo. Evy, meanwhile, told the court that there was a request from Otto Cornelis (Kaligis) about Rp300 million cash to be delivered to the Attorney General Office’s Special Crimes’ (Jampidsus) director for prosecution Maruli Hutagalung.
Both Prasetyo and Maruli, however, have denied all accusations against them. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
