JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Coal producer PT Toba Bara Sejahtera Tbk (TOBA) targets its coal-fired power plant (PLTU) business to contribute 40% of total revenues.
TOBA plans to build independent power producer (IPP) with capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) which costs US$100-120 million.
TOBA intends to diversify its business, then it plans to build IPPs in East Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
TOBA booked net profit of US$9.53 million in first nine months to September of 2015, dropped 44.7% from US$17.4 million in the corresponding period of 2014.
Sales declined 31.1% to US$268.5 million, from US$389.7 million a previous year. TOBA’s coal production reached 4.5 million tons for the period while coal sales volume reached 4.8 million tons.
