JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of Defense General (ret) Ryamizard Ryacudu is scheduled to hold a meeting in the end of September with the representatives of the Russian Federation government to discuss the Indonesian government’s plan of purchasing Sukhoi Jet SU-35.
Ryamizard confirmed said upcoming meeting with Russian’s representatives during a public hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I, which overseeing defense, intelligence, ict, and international affairs, on Monday (Sep. 21) afternoon.
Ryamizard, moreover, revealed that the meeting is a follow up from the order of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to purchase Sukhoi Jet SU-35.
However, there is no official statement yet on where the meeting will be conducted and how much unit of Sukhoi Jet SU-35 will be purchased by the government.
The purchasement of Sukhoi Jet SU-35 is a part of Jokowi administration’s plan to modernize the country’s military primary weapons defense system (alutsista). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
