JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jero Wacik, who is graft suspect and politician from SBY’s Democratic Party, is on Tuesday (Sep. 22) expected to face his first trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court.
As reported earlier, Jero had been named as suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in two separate cases.
First is an extortion case when Jero served as Minister of Culture & Tourism. And second is a corruption case during his term as Minister of Energy that also implicating Waryono Karno, another suspect in the case and former Secretary General of the Energy Ministry.
Under the ten years of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration, Jero served as Minister of Culture & Tourism from October 2004 to October 2011 before serving as Minister of Energy for three years (2011-2014). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
