JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of maritime and fishery Susi Pudjiastuti proposes to offer up to 100% investment on fish processing to foreign investors along with the government’s deregulation policy to boosting the investment.

Currently, foreign investment on fish processing is capped for maximum 40%, but Susi argues this regulation is better implemented to fishing activity. Susi believes the deregulation on fish processing will attract more dollar investment in Indonesia.

Siti then urges the government to better offering no investment to foreign investors (or foreign ships) on the fishing activity. Susi’s proposal is now under discussion with the Coordinating Minister for Economy Darmin Nasution.
