JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) recorded deposit insurance reserves of Rp48 trillion as of July 2015, compared to Rp40 trillion in the same period of 2014.

Under the Law, the deposit insurance rate is set for 2.5% (Rp110.38 trillion) of total banks’ deposits.

LPS is obliged to cover the banks’ accounts with maximum deposits of Rp2 billion. By July 2015, 166.74 accounts, with deposits of maximum Rp2 billion, have a combined deposits of Rp1,919.27 trillion.

LPS has handled 65 liquidated banks with total deposits of Rp1,275.8 trillion, and has paid claims of Rp771.55 billion to depositors (103,796 accounts).
