JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of Finance Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro affirms that for next year (2016), the budget will be focused on regions and the poor.

“It’s an affirmation that we will give larger block grant and encourage growth with quality by helping disadvantaged family,” he affirms.

According to him, this aims to achieve the development targets, namely poverty rate, unemployment rate, gini ratio, and human development index, which are set by the Bappenas. Meanwhile, basic assumptions are prepared by considering the latest economic development and future prospect.

“For example, economic growth is set at 5.5%. In this case, we try to find assumptions as realistic as possible without leaving optimism,” he says.

In the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution affirms the importance of developing strong economic fundamental. “Global and national economic dynamics happened in the past few years remind us the importance of developing strong economic fundamental in order to face external shock,” he says.

Next year, for the first time the transfer to region and village fund will exceed the budget of the Ministries/Institutions (K/L). “In other words, Indonesia has been implementing fiscal decentralization completely,” said Minister of Finance Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro.
