JAKARTA (Yosefarid) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained Amir Hamzah and Kasmin, two suspects in a bribery case of the handling of Lebak (Banten) post-election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK).

KPK’s Spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha said KPK will detain Amir and Kasmin for the next 20 days at the KPK’s detention center and the Guntur detention center respectively.

As reported earlier, KPK has named Amir Hamzah and Kasmin as suspects for allegedly bribing Akil Mochtar to win the pair in the post election dispute of Lebak election at the MK.

Amir Hamzah and Kasmin were a losing pair of regent & vice regent candidates in Lebak election back in 2013. The pair was supported by Golkar Party. But they lose the race to Iti Octavia Jayabaya and her running mate Ade Sumard that endorsed by a coalition led by Democratic Party and PDI-P.

Previously, former Governor of Banten and key leader of Golkar Ratu Atut Chosiyah, another suspect in this case, has been sentenced along with his younger brother TUbagus Chaeri Wardhana aka Wawan. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
