JAKARTA (Yosefarid) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is expected to soon issuing a new Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding the development of the light rail transit (LRT) and high speed train projects. The two projects are part of the President’s ambitious infrastructure development projects throughout the country.
Talking to the press on Tuesday (Aug. 18) afternoon, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung confirmed Presiden Jokowi will soon sign two Perpres regarding the development of the LRT and the high speed train projects respectively.
According to Pramono, the LRT project will be built in Jakarta. The development of LRT project in the capital city Jakarta, Pramono said, will be a role model for similar development in other cities such as Medan, Palembang, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, etc.
The high speed train project, meanwhile, will be built to connecting Jakarta and Bandung, Pramono told the press.
Last but not least, Pramono said President Jokowi has ordered all related parties to submit their technical reports to him regarding the development of LRT and high speed train projects by at the very late Aug. 31, 2015. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
